Convert rv refrigerator to kerosene?

I was thinking about the possibility to convert a regular propane rv refrigerator to kerosene, in a shtf scenario I can store more kerosene than propane, I know that propane ones use a small flame to convert the liquid to a gaseous form in order to transfer the heat, does anyone on GIM have any knowledge on these propane refrigerators that they can share, when I turn the temp down on them does the flame increase in order to cool even more, or just how does it work, and could it be done easily, or am I spinning my wheels here trying to invent a better mousetrap?

PS I know kerosene refrigerators are available on the market, but they are expensive.

if you do a search you will find websites with info telling how to work on/service absorption system refs, which is what RV type refs are.

The downside to using kerosene on absorption system ref. is that it needs to be cleaned every 30 days on a factory made model, so if you did a DIY deal on your RV ref you would have issues with soot buildup even more so than on one made for burning kero.

Thanks I am, I would consider that a minor inconvenience in a full blown shtf scenario, I have tried a web search and have had little luck in finding any useful info, maybe Ill just play around and see if I can get one to work, I'm thinking of possibly a pressurized tank to get the kerosene to burn better to avoid the soot issue, maybe preheat the kerosene like a camp stove does before it goes to the burner.

It can be done but you need a small draft tube/burner assembly from something like an Alladin lamp. Overheating is also an issue, Too much flame an you blow the fuseable plug, you fridge becomes a closet ...

If the RV is at its permanent location why not just get a 200 gallon or larger LP tank and tie it in to the RV ?

Good idea, as the LPG consumption by a RV ref. is nominal.
